Allow clone plus to include Portfolio Parent-linked children

Description

With Portfolio, issues are linked using the Parent Link custom field (Stories > Epics > Initiatives)

Although users are able to include 'Issues in Epic' when cloning Epics, they would like to be able to move up one level in our hierarchy and clone multiple Epics at once.

Desired behavior:

  1. Navigate to an Initiative issue type that has at least one child Epic (designated on the Epic via Parent Link field)

  2. Select Clone +

  3. Checkbox available to select to include Portfolio children.

  4. Clone Initiative, Epics & Stories

We would love to see this feature as well! It would save us from a lot of exports / imports to create new groups of issues for new products.

Thanks!

I’m super keen to understand your current way of handling this, your needs, pain points, and help answer any questions you may have. Please let me know if you are ok to jump on a call with me. Thank you.

Sure, I think you have my email if you want to ping me directly to setup a call.

For each new product we create, there is a group of tasks which must be completed to get the basic functionality up and running. In today’s setup, there is an initiative which contains a couple dozen Epics and a bunch of children under each. While we can now clone the Epic and have it update all of the children (thank you - we love that feature!), we have to run it a couple dozen times for each new product then update the Parent Link field on each new Epic. Or we can use the CSV export / import. Neither are ideal as both are fairly time intensive and error prone.
