This page contains information about migrating your Confluence instance to cloud. It is possible that some of the app’s functionality is lost after migration. Information about the differences of the features between server and cloud, and what gets migrated are mentioned on this page.
Numbered Headings works differently on Confluence server/data center and Confluence cloud because of the different integration points these platforms provide. This causes a difference in available functionality and what data is migrated when you move to cloud.
Differences between server and cloud versions
The table below shows a list of functionalities available when you use Numbered Headings in your cloud instance. The page numbering was launched on cloud in April 2021.

Points to note
The Numbered Headings macro is compatible between all hosting options and continue to work after a migration. All you need to do is install the app on your cloud instance.

Page numbering is supported on cloud. Migrated pages that have page numbering continue to work as expected with their headings.
Space numbering is not yet supported on cloud.
Migrated pages that have space numbering enabled continue to work as expected. But their headings are no longer be numbered.
Page include macros that are placed inside of the Numbered Headings macro are no longer numbered. The content of these included pages is shown within the macro on the page without being numbered.
How to migrate
You can use the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant to migrate your content to cloud. There are no additional steps required to migrate Numbered Headings; all you need to do is install the app (read installation instructions) on the cloud instance.
