Release notes 7.8

On this page

The Bob Swift software team is proud to announce the release of Cache for Confluence, version 7.8.

With hundreds of customers in more than 50 countries, Cache for Confluence is one of our most popular Bob Swift Atlassian apps. Version 4.0, the oldest recorded by Atlassian was released back in June of 2010 and since then, our team has released 19 versions of this app.

With version 7.8, we wanted to make it easier for administrators to quickly locate, modify, and validate Cache settings. This release has other surprises in store, so please check out the Release highlights section for all the details.

We also want to thank you, our incredible customers, for using our apps. You have provided great feedback and suggestions to us over the years and you cheer us on from afar as we try hard to understand and meet your needs. We appreciate the support and want you to know that you, truly, are the reason why we build software!

We'd love to hear how satisfied you are with Cache for Confluence and sure would appreciate you taking a moment to provide us with a review.

This release is available for Confluence 6.0.0 and above. The Confluence server must be running Java 1.8 or higher.

Release highlights

Easy navigation for administrators

Admins, we've been listening to your feedback and version 7.8 has some exciting additions for you, namely:

  • You no longer need to hunt and peck in order to find our configuration page. A new option Bob Swift configuration > Cache is now available right within the General Configuration sidebar for configuring Cache.
  • A brand new editor experience.

Validation on cache settings

Several customers asked us to provide validation checks against global cache settings to help prevent the entry of invalid values:

  • We've set minimum cache setting values and now validate your entry to ensure values are greater than our minimums.

Other fixes

We removed a legacy cache setting to control "Process Options" that was no longer valid.
